Mole: when to delete and when not?

Nevus is a congenital or acquired pigmented formation on the skin, which usually has the form of a spot or tubercle. Most often moles are of no danger to humans, it is benign, which is each person. However, there are cases when it is better to remove.

Types of moles

Moles arise in the first years of life and up to 8 years old usually acquire their final form and do not change throughout life. It should be understood that moles are congenital and acquired. Congenital, in turn, are divided into:

  • shallow: 0.5 to 1.5 cm in diameter;
  • average: 1,5-10 cm;
  • large: more than 10 cm.

Small moles should not cause concern, but medium and large can have a tendency to degeneration into a malignant tumor, so they need to control and remove.

Acquired moles can appear at puberty, during pregnancy, in old age. That is, when substantially changing the hormonal balance of a person. To boost the appearance of moles can trauma, sunburn, massage, hormone therapy.
A person can be from 3 to 100 moles on the body, with age, their number may increase.

What are moles dangerous?

  • has changed color;
  • appeared inflammation, bleeding.

Ways to remove moles

Removing moles can be shown not only to prevent or treat melanoma (skin cancer), but also to comply with safety regulations. Sometimes these formations have a convex shape or located in permanent contact with clothing, bedding, (for example, where usually takes place the waistband of the trousers or in the area of the bra). In this case, it is better to remove in advance, and not wait for accidental damage. Today the moles removed by the following methods:

  • Surgically.
  • Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen.
  • Electrocoagulation with high frequency current.
  • With the use of a laser.

It should be understood that only a doctor can determine whether it is necessary to remove the mole and to recommend how it can be done.
